"Look how FAR FORWARD they're pushing THIS BEFORE they push the BLACK RACE thing... how many HUNDREDS of years we were saying 'we were put into slavery' and all that. But all of a sudden, this small minority's kicking up a stink -- within the last, what -- TEN years they've been coming on?"

π️π―️R.I.P. • Quite Possibly THE GREATEST To Ever Grace The Silver Screen • SIDNEY POITIER (1929-2022)π―️π️
Sidney Poitier has many legacies, but his acting should not be lost among them
He will rightly be remembered as an aspirational icon and for being nearly the sole representative of African-Americans in mainstream cinema for nearly a decade, but he was first and foremost a phenomenal actor.
Adam Howard | THE GRIO
Sidney Poitier, one of the last remaining icons of Hollywood’s golden age, has died at age 94. Much ink will be spilled, and rightfully so, about his significance as a cultural icon of the civil rights era who made history at not just the Oscars but at the box office, too.

Matt Bruce | ATLANTA BLACK STAR
An L.A. County official recently announced plans to possibly return a $75 million beachfront property to the family of a Black couple that once owned it.
The news comes 97 years after policymakers in Manhattan Beach wrested the property away from the family as part of a power move to oust Black people from the Southern California city.
Charles and Willa Bruce were among the first landowners in the coastal town when they bought a patch of land on the shores for less than $2,000 in 1912.

KJV BROMANCE: Why Do Black Christians Have Such an Affection for the King James Bible?
Black Apolodemic | MEDIUM
I was raised in the Black Baptist Church. There is a lot of tradition, pomp and circumstance in the Black Baptist Church as there is throughout most Black Christian Churches. There are also some artifacts. One such artifact is the pew.
The church pew two main purposes: they seat congregants in the front and hold items on the back. On the back of every pew, there is a place holder for fans, books and communion cups. In the Black Baptist church, you will only find two books in the back of every pew: the King James Bible (KJV) and the New National Baptist Hymnal.

Allison Gordon | CNN
If Margaret Sanger sounds familiar, it's because you might have encountered her in history class.
A nurse and educator, Sanger opened in 1916 the first birth control clinic in the United States, which was illegal at the time. Her arrest and conviction led to a court ruling said that physicians could prescribe contraceptives to women for medical reasons. In 1923, Sanger opened a new clinic staffed by female doctors which eventually became the Planned Parenthood Federation of America.
