📺Watch: FELA KUTI • Water No Get Enemy • 1975

☝️The above video is one of the best I've seen on YouTube ~ every so often, for the better part of the past decade since I found it, I like to watch it again in order to remind myself that, despite all the injustice that remains to be corrected where I live, I am nevertheless extremely grateful that I do not have to struggle so desperately to obtain the most basic essentials to support life... and I need to empathise, pray and help in whatever manner I can -- those who do on an ongoing regular basis...

Engineer Moses West’s Innovative Machine Creates Safe, Drinkable Water Out of Thin Air

Tanasia Kenney | ATLANTA BLACK STAR

No, it’s not magic. It’s the system behind Moses West’s innovative machine that’s making it so communities in need have access to safe drinking water.

What’s more, folks are already pretty familiar with the science behind it all.
“We’ve always known there were three sources of water: a liquid, a solid and a gas,” West, a retired Army captain and engineer, told Atlanta Black Star in a recent interview. “Our atmosphere is [the] most abundant source of water we have. And now we have this technology in our hands … where we can tap into this water. To me, we’re in no-brainer territory.”

BLUE NOTE and How one designer created the “look” of jazz

Blue Note Records created the visual identity of modern jazz

Estelle Caswell | VOX

What does modern jazz look like? For a lot of music fans, the visual identity of jazz has become synonymous with a single record label that defined the sound and feeling of the musical style during its transformation from the complicated melodies of bebop to the soulful hooks of hard bop during the 1950s and ’60s. That record label is Blue Note, and their album covers are so iconic, they’ve been the point of inspiration for graphic designers and musicians for the past 60 years.
